Cursor plugin
Connect Cursor to Adaption with MCP tools and skills for dataset and model-training workflows.
The Adaption plugin for Cursor connects the Adaption MCP server and adds workflow skills for datasets, synthetic data generation, and AutoScientist.
Install the plugin
Section titled “Install the plugin”- Open Customize in the Cursor sidebar.
- Search for Adaption.
- Select Install.
- Open Configure and set
ADAPTION_API_KEYto your Adaption API key.
Verify the connection
Section titled “Verify the connection”Open Cursor Settings → Tools & MCP and confirm that the adaption server is connected. Then ask the agent:
List my Adaption datasets.
The agent should use list_datasets from the Adaption MCP server.
If the server exposes no tools and reports 403 Only API keys are permitted on this endpoint, check that ADAPTION_API_KEY contains an Adaption API key rather than a session or OAuth token.
What the plugin adds
Section titled “What the plugin adds”The plugin configures the hosted MCP connection and includes three skills:
adaption-dataset— Guides dataset import, adaptation, augmentation, translation, localization, combination, and export workflows.adaption-invent— Guides synthetic dataset generation from natural-language requirements.adaption-training— Guides AutoScientist model selection, hyperparameter recommendations, training, and monitoring.
